Method of Study


Why do we study? 

Ultimate objective of our education is to get ourselves acquainted with various aspects of life such as Language, Biosphere, scientifically Physical and chemical, mathematical abilities, historical aspects of world.
This include Knowledge and abilities. Knowledge is Book related learning and skill is synchronized motor ability along with intelligence of planning of movement and execution with planned timeline.

What is study?


Study is an activity which involve knowledge acquisition and skill development. Knowledge acquisition involve text learning with mathematical abilities and skill involve motor skills.  Such as swimming is a skill which needs lot of practice, it cannot be developed by reading book. Have you tried to learn swimming by reading a book without going to swimming pool? Therefore skill development is a slow process which involve development of psycho motor abilities in oneself after repeated practice and improving every time doing that activity.

  Text can be studied in following manner.
    Text is representation of some event, fact, material or any thing 'in text form'. Text along with figures is unable to portray the fact in totality.
     We can consider it as  a window which leads the reader to abstract of the content.
As the reader tries to visualize the concept which is on the ground with commonsense.



Stress of study

Studying is with some inputs to mind and synthesis of the content. Since this activity is related to involvement of intellect and brain, it is going to built up stress after studying. It is important to understand that study with gain works as reward. This becomes motivation to further study with more interest or enthusiasm. The points mentioned ahead will direct towards easy learning with better assimilation and with ultimate utility of the same.

Studying Theory
Our learning is primarily of two types 1. Theoretical text which involve reading text content understanding and then developing personal concept of that in our mind as a personal experience about it. Which we rarely can explain to anybody because it is associated with lot of memories ans experiences. (Being out of scope and of not much use here there is no need to go into details at this stage. Therefore we are stopping here.)
Study of theory is divided in two types they are.... 

Theory = Text + Mathematics

How to study Text

    Text is a window which lead us to go to the concept which is existing in the world - may it be a scientific fact, Historical event, Language related rule or of whatever type.
    Text is an attempt to represent the concept in text form. Practically text along with cannot represent the concept to 100%. because the text only speaks  about it.
    Let's take example of gravity. Whatever you read gravity cannot be understood by reading large number of books.
    So text is an attempt of representation of some concept to pass  the information to the reader. Now how does it help in studying? Ones we understand the the text cannot represent the fact to 100% extent, we now try to use commonsense to reach to that fact while reading the text content. The moment you develop skills in doing so you can now read the text to acquire the concept than to understand the text. This gives you truly a different type of experience.
    Therefore it is said above that text is a window to knowledge. Ones we develop skill of this we now focus on to how to express this text in different forms, which is one of the important use of reading or studying for that matter.
    After assimilating the concept we now sharpen the skills of representation in literal or verbal form. After developing excellence in it, let's see how to express it.
    Before writing anything or speaking (with expressional abilities developed) jot down the points in sequence one after the other. Later explain or deliberate on each point one by one (after jotting the points of discussion). Please remember that memorization of  all the points should be complete before starting the expression.  Now g on expressing it. As expression is a skill, it is developed and refined after practice. Now you are equipped to express yourself successfully.

Mathematics

As mentioned earlier you have to practice problems in mathematics because problem solving is a skill and skill development is a slow progressive activity which require consistent efforts. Therefore we should practice solving problems like we do in case of swimming.
    There is one additional thing we can do in order to successfully solve problems that is we separate out topics of numericals. Then we take a topic and find out how many types of problems are asked on that topic. After that label each type of problem as type-1 problem and study what is given on that type and what is asked along with what is a procedure to solve the problem.
    Ones we cover all mathematical topics in a subject we can fold a page vertically and on left side we write the problem ans solve it. On the right side we write 'the steps' how did we solve the problem. Now we have the solved problem on left and solving procedure on right side. At the time of exam as we have already developed skills of solving the problems and have the procedure to solve it along with us, we can revise them very fast. If followed properly we an progress very exceptionally well. 100%

Golden hours


When we get up from sleep to and half hours after getting up are Golden hours. Our brain is fresh and ready to receive anything during this period, may it be a topic extremely difficult to understand or a problem which you can not at all solve. Try this you will get miraculous outputs from yourselves. After studying for two and half hours the stress starts building up, now you can relax and have some fun time - eat drink chat with friends etc. Sometimes you can tale nap for some time also. this will refresh you and will make you fresh also. Remember two and half hours are equal to six to eight hours of study in normal situation.

Writing exam

While writing exam do not hurry in solving question paper. Read it carefully and try to understand what the examiner wants to know from you. If you get this, you will reduce a lot of problems in getting low results. Remember the examiner do not expect exact answer from you. He tries to know whether you have assimilated the content or not.
    Now as said earlier read the question and jot down the points (on backside of answer book) which you find suitable to be incorporated in answer. Later write each point and its explanation at the place of your answer. this will ease the procedure of writing the answer. Because you have done the memorization part at first stage and expression in second stage. that means you are doing one process at a time keeping you relaxed without much stress.

Ones you systematically follow the method mentioned above this will surely lead to success. Also you will develop higher level skills of analytical nature which will develop your vision about various issues and indirectly make you expert in different areas.
